Tom Schlesinger gave a new two-hour lecture at the Industrial Light and Magic Premiere Theater in San Francisco entitled, "Storytelling Crystals: the Biology of Story" to a rapt audience of Lucasfilm professionals. He also taught his three-week "Writing Great Comedies" seminar at Pixar Animation Studios. Tom is currently consulting in post-production on "Hearts of Fire," co-written and directed by "The Story of the Weeping Camel" filmmaker Luigi Falorni, and produced by "Nowhere in Africa" producers Andreas Bareis and Gloria Burkhart.

The Story Ranch, Tom's film and television development center in Sonoma County, California, will open in the Summer of 2008.

Tom is writing "Pet Dreams," an original indie comedy screenplay and is co-creator and Story Editor on "The Stranger," a 32-episode television series for Moroccan television. He is represented by The Brant Rose Agency in Los Angeles.

Tom facilitated a new workshop at the Academy of Art in Munich called "Creative Flow: the Inner Reaches of Outer Space," based on his work with mythologists Joseph Campbell, Jean Houston and Keith Cunningham. With longtime collaborator Keith Cunningham, he will be facilitating workshops on "Communication, Creativity and Collaboration" in Germany, Austria, Greece, and the U.S.

Last year, Tom taught his "Screenwriter as Storyteller" seminar at the FAMU Film School in Prague, alma mater of renowned filmmaker, Milos Forman. Tom worked with the international students from the Czech Republic, Spain, Iceland, Sweden, England, Macedonia, and Slovakia on their screenplay projects. After Prague, Tom taught his seminar, "Dramaturgy for Documentary Films," for the German television network, Bayerischer Rundfunk, in Munich; he used his three-dimensional creative guidance system, "The Story Crystal," to explore award-winning documentaries like "Rhythm Is It," "Spellbound," "Super-Size Me," "Rivers and Tides," and "Bowling for Columbine."
